Homeopathy offers “alternative” for seasonal bugs (Part 1)

I am receiving increased calls for help with symptoms of winter illness. Parents in particular are looking for alternatives as in the last few years an increasing number of over-the-counter medications have become off limits for children.

There are a number of homeopathic medicines, known as remedies, available over the counter. Remedies that I commonly use include:

Gelsemium: The number one “flu” remedy. Symptoms are slow to develop. Prominent symptoms are a feeling of heaviness, fatigue, clammy skin, flushes of hot and cold, dizziness and congestion.

Belladonna: Symptoms develop suddenly. Prominent symptoms are a feeling of heat, throbbing pain and irritability. Any jarring of the body will make symptoms worse. Children can be obstinate and may want to bite or hit.

Pulsatilla: Prominent symptoms are blocked and painful sinuses with sticky mucus that are much better in fresh air, changeable moods and tearfulness. Children will be clingy and will want to be carried.

...... a few more remedies to follow in the next few days!

Please contact a professionally registered homeopath if symptoms don’t improve after a day or two *.
